My daughter has never been more aware of her voice. When I say voice, I don’t mean that she is just talking, I mean that she has realized very clearly the power behind her voice. And not only the power her voice has, but the ever-evolving opinion that goes along with said voice. I think that is the beginning of what they call the terrible twos.
It is a balance allowing my daughter the freedom and independence she needs to cultivate her creativity while maintaining guidelines and helping to develop her moral character. The lines in my drawing today are like a structure that navigate around and provide support to her vibrant and growing self.
